Fate brought us to Port-au-Persil while we were visiting the Province of Quebec. And there, in a heartbeat, we bought this farm in the heights of Charlevoix.

We then searched for ideas in order to bring this ancient farm to life again. It is set in the heart of a spectacular landscape unique by its panoramic view from above on the St-Laurence river.

An idea started to emerge when Serge fell in love with a donkey named Marius while working in a Pony Club in the South of France. Little by little we have expanded our knowledge and naturally donkeys became our passion and our project.

Visiting the “Salon Agricole” in Paris many times, we were able to notice the constant development of the world of donkeys and the growing infatuation for products made with female donkey milk.

Since 2004, our farm is dedicated to donkeys breeding and we are the first in Quebec to produce donkey milk that we originally used for making hand made soaps.

In 2007, la Ferme de l'Âne du Saint-Laurent developed the Shamâne cosmetics brand with a range of high quality products enriched with donkey milk.

Thanks to our 8 years of experience, today we offer exceptional products enriched with donkey milk incorporated when it is raw in order to keep all its vitamins (A, B, B2, B6, C, D, E), its trace elements and its nutrients.
